Clifford “Cliff” Lundale Muldrow

Great-Uncle · Brother of Alvin

Born December 28, 1939 · Birmingham, Alabama

Cliff Muldrow built his name in Birmingham the way the family has always done it, with his own two hands. Starting with a service station in 1971, he grew a constellation of businesses across the city and became one of Birmingham's most respected Black entrepreneurs of his generation. He was a man who turned hustle into legacy, and his story is where the Muldrow drive comes from.

  • Named Birmingham Business Person of the Year in 1985.
  • Founder of Cliff's Gulf Service Station (1971), Cliff's Pit Stop Barbecue (1975), Cliff's Kwik Stop (1975), Cliff's Limousine Service (1976), Fashion's Etc. Hair Care Center (1977), and Fantasy/Queen Horse & Carriage Service (1985).
  • Honored by Booker T. Washington Business College in 1974 and listed in Marquis Who's Who.
  • When Michael Jackson and his brothers came to Birmingham in 1984, Cliff escorted them through the city in his limousine service.
  • Married Queen Ester Sanders on December 21, 1958.
  • His home on Wenonah Road remains a recognized Birmingham landmark.
